Comparing apples to oranges and documenting the differences

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In this session, we will explore why we may think grading has to be the same for everyone. We will explore the difference between accommodations and modifications and talk in depth about how to document any differentiation you do in the classroom. This is not just for students that have IEPs, but will cover English Language Learners, students who are in the RTI process, students who are just struggling now and then and everything in between. You will walk away from this session with new ideas for looking at assignments outside the box for those students who don't fit in the box. We will provide you with an editable form that is beyond useful for covering your ass-ignments that give a clear understanding to parents and administration or anyone else that needs to know what and how you provided instruction for the individual student. The discussion will be on your struggles, wonders, thoughts, barriers, dilemmas, points, and limitations you face and together we will problem solve. You will gain confidence in formally and informally assessing students of all ability levels and documenting your differentiation.
